Plan Ceibal initiative
We implemented an Educational Project in Uruguay, called "Ceibal Plan", providing connected laptops, educational content and software to every school-aged child and teachers.
The acronym "Ceibal" means "Education Computer Connectivity to Learn". The plan allowed wireless (Wi-Fi) connection in every school, inside and outside the classroom. We also conducted consulting and training services in every school.
500.000 devices delivered through international partners in the Conectar Igualdad project
We established some partnerships in Argentina. Seeking a digital inclusion policy and equality, we have delivered 3 million laptops with educational software, impacting students and teachers, providing educational content, leading training programs and technical assistance during three years.
We have implemented Balboa, an educational project in Panama that seeked ICT integration by providing laptops specifically designed to support the students. In partnership with the Government of Panama and the Ministry of Education (Meduca), our team conducted consulting and training services in every school. Panama will be a reference in the region as a center of educational experiences with a focus on technology in the classroom.

Our Educational Adventure
Our educational adventure started in 2008 with Magalhães (“Magellan”), a Portuguese project that deployed more than 700,000 PCs to students all over the country, in alliance with Intel® Learning Series.
Portugal’s project had an enormous scope. In addition to including every primary-school student in the country, the project has met challenges that ranged from modernizing the national communications infrastructure to providing locally relevant digital education content.
Since Magellan in 2008, we continued to share our knowledge and solutions in the Education field. Today, we have implemented around 20 educational projects worldwide.
